Report on the human right situation in DRC (July-December 2006)

Between July and December 2006, the human rights situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was cause of grave concern. As historical elections took place and marked the end of a three-year transition, the United Nations Human Rights Integrated Office in the DRC (UNHRO) monitored and documented a substantial increase in the number of politically-motivated incidents during the electoral process.
