Kinshasa, 10 March 2009 - Alan Doss, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in the DRC, in the name of all the personnel of MONUC and in his own personal name, addresses his congratulations to the Leopards for the sporting prowess which they have just achieved by winning the first Championship of Africa of Nations.
"For two weeks, you allowed the hearts of all the Congolese people to beat in unison. Your engagement, team spirit and determination enabled you to gain this great victory. I hope that these qualities inspire all those which work for a durable peace in the DRC."
