Kinshasa, 6 February2009 - Mr. Alan Doss, Special Representative of the Secretary General in Congo, responded to criticism of MONUC this week from Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF). In a letter to Ms. Laurence Gaubert, Head of Mission for MSF in Congo, Mr. Doss said that MONUC's responsibilities and actions to protect civilians in Haute-Uele had been "seriously misrepresented" in a Press Release that MSF distributed on 4 February.
