Today only a few newspapers appear in Kinshasa and all mention the process of forming the new government in the DRC after last Saturday's nomination of Antoine Gizenga as Prime Minister.

La Référence Plus reports that "the Prime Minister is due begin consultations this Tuesday, 2 January 2007 for the formation of [a new] government that President [Joseph] Kabila wants representative and made up of upright persons."

According to Forum des As, the composition of "the Gizenga government will be known by 10 January, that is, next week at the latest."

Forum des As also notes that "the recently elected Bureau of the National Assembly presided over by Vital Kamerhe will be installed this Tuesday."
