Death of Uruguayan contingent's Peacekeeper in Bukavu

A Uruguayan contingent's peacekeeper based in Bukavu passed away Thursday 13 May 2004 following a heart attack.
Sergeant William Aparicio Ferreira Cassini, 49 years old, was married and father of five children. He joined MONUC in September 2003.

Procedures are ongoing for the transfer of his body to Kinshasa prior to repatriation.

This death brings up to 37 the number of MONUC's peacekeepers fallen since the Mission
was established in the DRC in November 1999.
