Jean-Pierre Bemba's arrest upon the International Court of Justice order continues to dominate the news in the local press.
In this regard, Oscar Kashala, the National Leader of the Union for the Reconstruction of the DRC known as UREC "has called for the establishment of a Criminal Court for the DRC," reports Le Phare.
Le Potentiel reports, "The International Court of Justice has launched a series of trials in the Great Lakes Region," indicating, "besides, Jean-Pierre Bemba, the International Criminal Court also is planning to arrest Ange-Félix Patasse, ex-President of the Central African Republic and the Ugandan Generals who were then leading MLC troops into this country."
Roger Lumbala, National Member of the Parliament has called on the Congolese people to "stand up as one man against Jean-Pierre Bemba's arrest and opposed to the mandate to issued very shortly against President Joseph Kabila," reports Le Potentiel.

La Tempête des Tropiques, for its part, refers to "a major upheaval within MLC, Jean-Pierre Bemba's political party," due to "the aborted Saturday march that triggered the MLC grassroots members' anger against their leadership."

In a press conference, DRC Defence Minister, Chikez Diemu "has condemned the Laurent Nkunda-triggered insecurity in two territories of the North Kivu (...), reports L`Observateur. Le Phare quotes the DRC Defence Minister as stating, "Army reform has been lunched as there is no way to revert it."

In other news, L'Avenir reports "Ninety three Peacekeepers killed in the DRC peacekeeping mission since ihe beginning in 1999." Le Palmarès goes on to inform, "A UN Security Council delegation is expected in Kinshasa on 8 June during its African tour."
