Various issues are dealt with in today's local press.
"At the National Assembly, 117 MPs risk seeing their mandates invalidated," reports La Tempête des Tropiques, highlighting, "the lower house of the parliament is determined to sanctions against the frequently absentees."

La Tempêtes des Tropiques refers to the Chinese contracts as "a medium for PPRD's 2011 propaganda (PPRD is President Kabila's Political Party)."

Le Palmarès reports a turnaround in Bemba's case: "Jean-Pierre Bemba is dropped by his former allies while Patassé(former President of the Central African Republic) is preparing for his defence from his exile in Togo on the basis of the charges retained against Jean-Pierre Bemba."

In other news, La Référence plus quotes Ambassador Jean Maurice Ripert, head of the UN Security Council delegation to the DRC as declaring, "MONUC is the largest operation ever deployed by the UN and we do not have the intention to reduce it or suspend it in the coming weeks, months or years."

"Another earthquake in Bukavu, South Kivu," signals Le Palmarès.

"Anger and indignation at the National Assembly," reports Le Phare, indicating, "three MPs humiliated by a Lebanese national: 1. a national MP, Francis Kalombo; 2. a provincial MP for the city of Kinshasa, Gérard Mulumba, alias "GEKOKO" and 3. The spokesperson of the provincial Assembly of Kinshasa, Nsingi and illegally confined by a Lebanese national named Zaidan, in the facilities of the Régie nationale presse et imprimerie (Renapi)."

"With UNDP support, a workshop on the national gender policy was organised in the DRC," reports La Référence plus.
