Press Review of 3rd March 2007

Today's local press in Kinshasa mainly comment on DRC Cabinet's 3-day workshop from Monday 02 April through Wednesday 5 April 2007.
"The aim of the workshop, led by Prime Minister Antoine Gizenga, is to help the newly appointed cabinet members to internalize the professional code of ethics, to exercise power and good governance," reports La Référence Plus.

"The workshop will provide the cabinet members with a clear road map to allow them to implement the five Herculean tasks raised by President Kabila to get the economy back on track," says Le Potentiel

"This apparently marks a break with the old political practices when cabinet members were perceived as all-knowing figures," says L'Avenir.

"Congolese people are fed up with cabinet workshops – they are impatient to see concrete changes," says Le Potentiel.

La Référence Plus reports "a march by Congolese people this Tuesday 03 April to protest Jean-Pierre Bemba's exile to Portugal," demanding that "the MLC leader first answer for his criminal acts during the tragic events of 22 and 23 March."
